PUMA and LaMelo Ball (LaMelo Ball’s personal lifestyle brand LaFrancé launched a joint product, the joint collection contains sneakers, jerseys, hoodies, shorts, training pants and T-shirts and other clothing products, products are Lamelo Ball’s personal style, featuring the French national flower root iris. In this issue, we take a look at the detailed design of Ball’s personal third generation signature basketball shoes, the MB.03 LaFrancé.
PUMA MB.03 LaFrancé
The shoebox is fluorescent green. The windowing position of the front side has 4 claw marks, and it’s printed with PUMA X LF & M.E.L.O. III.

The thickened upper is densely covered with vetiver iris pattern. The yellow position is made of stiff mesh fabric to improve the air permeability.
The transparence of PUMA MB.03 LaFrancé vamp
There are 6 couples of shoelaces holes. The front 4 groups adopt narrow and wide sparse design to reduce the pressure on the instep. And the last 2 groups add TPU material to improve the lateral support.
The shoe tongue is thick and covered with leather. It has the design to avoid the shoe tongue moving when exercising.
The shoe heel uses fabric material. The lining is made of soft foam.
The insides of the shoes are covered with claw marks to increase air permeability, and the inner side of the forefoot sole have the word “Dip” from Lamelo Ball’s mother’s nickname for him.
The outsole rubber extends upward around the midsole in a “venom” shape to improve stability and support.
The inner rubber of the forefoot sole is turned up to reduce the deformation of the midsole and improve the stability.
Bauer’s Slogan “Not From Here” on the toe
The insole uses full-length NITRO FOAM cushion technology.
The opening design of insole is conducive to releasing deformation and increasing cushion performance. Both sides of the heel are adduced to giude the deformation direction of the force.
The rubber outsole has the word ‘RARE’.
The ousole adopts alien tentacle shape non-slip pattern.
The heelpiece outsole has claws groove to release the characteristics of PUMA NITRO insole material.
The surface of the shoe-pad is made of fabric material, printed with PUMA and Bauer’s personal logo, and the reverse side of shoe-pad is brushed with glue to reduce the chance of slipping.
The length of EUR42 shoe-pad is about 270mm.
The width of EUR42 shoe-pad is about 92.22mm.
The thicknes of EUR42 shoe-pad is about 5.67mm.
EVA material insole fabric
The unit weight of EUR42 is about 431.2g.
The first released colorway of MB.03 LaFrance uses a large area of polysaturated fluorescent green paint, which covers the green shoe body with vetiver iris pattern, supplemented by claw marks and “venom” shape outsole, it’s full of visual impact.
Fitting true to size. The opening of the shoe-tongue is big enough to put on and take off. After adjusting the tightness of the shoelaces, and the overall fitness is great. By running and jumping, I can feel the excellent cushion perforance from the NITRO FOAM midsole. The center of gravity is a little higher but completely acceptable, the overall performance is very good.
