The Houston Comets, one of the most storied franchises in the history of the WNBA, is receiving an extraordinary tribute from Nike. Celebrating the team’s monumental achievement of four consecutive WNBA Championships, Nike is launching a commemorative collection of footwear, paying homage to the illustrious Houston Comets and their stellar lineup featuring Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, and Tina Thompson.

Among the collection, the Nike Dunk Low shines as a tribute to this legendary basketball dynasty. Unlike its counterparts in the collection, the Air Force 1 in mid and low-top form, which sport clad white or “Obsidian” hues, the Dunk Low finds its unique place. The design, conceived by Peter Moore, showcases crisp white overlays that artfully contrast against a deep navy base layer. This dark blue is reserved for the backdrop and extends to the sleek nylon tongue and, importantly, to the heel tabs, which feature the years marking the Comets’ unforgettable four-peat.

Adding a splash of vibrancy, there’s an embroidered Swoosh outlined in “University Red.” But the highlight that catches the eye is the collection’s four-fingered insignia, symbolizing the four championships, executed in light grey stitching at the heel.
